Puerto Peñasco and Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort Access Protocol

We are glad to inform you that we are now entering on Phase V of Puerto Peñasco reopening and reactivation, according to the Covid-19 Protocols of the Municipality, starting this Saturday August 1st our beaches will be open for the public under the following protocols and limitations:

  • Recreational hours for general activities are from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Hours for exercise along the beach are from 6:00 am to 8:00 am and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Beach access for groups of 10 people or less and keeping social distancing
  • No more than five persons per palapa and keeping social distancing
  • Beach umbrellas must be separate at least 9 ft from each other
  • No glass containers will be allowed on the beach area
  • The beach area and access in front of the resort will be controlled and regulated by HOA.

The following changes will be made at Puerto Peñasco entrance check point:

  • The check point is from August 1st to August 31st.
  • Starting August 1st, we will have two lines, one for Hotels, Resorts, Rental Companies and HOA registered at the Conventions and Visitor Bureau of Puerto Peñasco (CVB). 
  • Las Palomas guests will line up on the Registered Companies line in which they will be making random COVID-19 fast tests (IRM IGG) and temperature check to one passenger every ten vehicles. The tests will be free of charge and will be made by Puerto Peñasco’ s Technical University Paramedics, the results will be ready in fifteen minutes.
  • The Hotels, Resorts, Rental Companies and HOA that are not registered at the CVB will line up in the access line in charge of the Municipality of Puerto Peñasco, in this case the random COVID-19 fast tests (IRM IGG) and temperature check will be made to one passenger every five vehicles and the tested passenger will have to cover the total test cost of $700.00 pesos, around $35.00 USD, depending of the exchange rate.
  • Depending of the test result, the access to the city will be granted to all the passengers.
  • The checkpoint schedule is from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  • The border is open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Las Palomas Beach and Golf Resort team has made efforts to keep the low cases of COVID 19 and to reduce to the maximum the risks of contagion. We are committed to provide a Safe Stay to our guests and to achieve that, we have adopted protocols that assure their health and wellbeing.

It is important to mention that all security and hygiene measures within the city are active, some of them are:

  • The city maintains a no transit curfew from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 am.
  • All person that transits in Puerto Peñasco must wear facemask.
  • The limit of persons in a private car is removed, as long as all passengers wear facemask.
  • The preventive measures by the State Health Council of social Distancing are still on going, 5 ft between person.
  • Supermarkets and convenience stores only allow one person per family.
  • Restaurants are working at 40% of their capacity.
  • Night clubs, bars and others are closed.
  • Malecon is closed, except for the approved restaurants.
  • Sport Fishing and cruises are allowed.
  • ATV, Jet Skis, Kayaks, sailboats are forbidden as beach access is closed.
  • Parks, squares, touristic places and similar are closed.
  • The WHO recommends avoiding traveling with kids of 12 years old or younger and elderly of 65 years old and above.

Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort entrance and check in Protocol

We request to all departmental manager to improve with their employees our institutional greeting “Te saludo con mis mejores deseos”.

  • Smile and greet using our institutional greeting “Te saludo con mis mejores Deseos”, which consist in a small head bow, open and united hands by the palms, in front of your chest and under your chin, in prayer position, making an expression of good wishes.
  • By doing the gesture of joining hands, our employees eliminate all negative energy and open a path with the other person for a trustworthy, harmonious, and brotherly connection.

Greeting by kiss on the check, arm, hand or any other that involves physical contact is forbidden. “Te saludo con mis mejores Deseos” is the only authorized greeting.

Door man
The resort door man in in charge of receiving the guest, indicates the access only to the reservation holder, as well as the documents he will need for the Check In process. Indicates where is the hand sanitizer dispenser with 70% of alcohol, opens the door and kindly requests the guest to step on the sanitizing mat with hypochlorite sodium solution at 0.5%, in the same way he requests the guest to stay in front of the thermographic camera (tripod at reception of phase 1 and phase 2) before going to front desk.

Bell boy
He is aware of any necessity of the guest, if requested the bell boy assistant with luggage, sanitizing it before and after every service.
The luggage rack and Bell boy car are sanitized three times a day with hypochlorite sodium solution at 0.5% and cotton cloth.

Front desk
In concordance with our new protocols, for the time being we are only allowing the access to one person per vehicle for check in process, who must be the reservation holder. In each lobby we have a thermographic camera which takes the temperature of each person at the entrance. The supervisor must be vigilant of the computer linked to this camera and to follow up any high temperature that may be detected.

We avoid the use of card keys and in it is place we implement an electronic system through smartphone (If the guest has one), with which the guest can access the condominium.

In case the guest is not wearing a face mask, the receptionist will hand over a basic PPE kit and general recommendations.

We implement the use the technology to facilitate the Check in process, (Pre Check In) using Las Palomas App, as well as promoting payment with card, bank transfer and any other electronic ContactLess payment method to reduce as much as we can the use of cash.

Payment terminal and scanners are on the desk in front of our guest, this way the receptionist does not have to touch the cards.

There is a pen holder in each station of both lobbies for the sole use of the guest. Each pen is disinfected after every use, with a sanitizing towel or cloth with sodium hypochlorite at 0.5%.

At arriving the guest (Reservation holder) at front desk:

  • We indicate the hand disinfection process with hand sanitizer dispenser with alcohol at 70%, footwear disinfection process in the sanitizing mat with sodium hypochlorite at 0.5% for 10 seconds and 10 second in the absorbing mat, and temperature check point at thermographic camera.
  • Confirmation number will be requested (in case of not having it, full name will be requested to search his reservation), ID and card, which will be the same for security deposit payment. The guest will place his ID on the scanner and the receptionist will save the information. The card will be placed at the payment terminal by the guest for the security deposit, Food and Beverages withholding (If necessary) or any other pending payment; the vouchers printer will be in front of the guest to, at printing the tickets, he will sign one, deliver it the receptionist and keep his copy.
  • Registry documents will be handover for reading and signature. This must be ready with tickets and parking pass.
  • The bracelets are codified and printed; the reservation holder will take them from the printer. He is requested to put them in front of the receptionist to cut off the outside part of the folio of each bracelet and attach it to the registry documents. It is very important to indicate to the guest the quantity of given bracelets and, in case of loss, the indicated payment amount will be preceded.
  • We move on to codify the room key on the guest smartphone (App)
  • Before finishing the check in process, we ask the guest if he wants daily cleaning service on his condominium or if only want to change of towels and amenities. We write down the reservation notes according to the guest answers and we call Housekeeping to notify, writing in the notes the name of the person who answers as reference. If the guest is not sure about the cleaning or if he changes his mind, we recommend he notifies his decision to Customer Service (calling 0 from his room) for reprogramming.

Protocol to follow when detecting a higher temperature at the thermographic camera

If you are a guest about to o Check in

  • The assigned personnel will take the guest to the Stay and Isolation Area taking the corresponding precautions and making sure of correctly using their PPE.
  • After ten minutes, the guest temperature will be taken again with a Digital Infrared Thermometer.
  • If the temperature is normal, he will be directed to the Lobby to finish his Check in process.
  • If the temperature of the guest is equal or higher than 37.5 ºC, he will be advised to call a Doctor, Health Care Center or 911 to make an appointment and be addressed as soon as possible.
  • The guest will be directed to his vehicle to go out on the appointment.
  • To be admitted again, the guest must present the medical report stating the guest is healthy.

Using Las Palomas Resort App

The main purpose of Las Palomas Resort App is to provide the necessary information to our guests about the services we offer at the hotel.

We will show in order of appearance a description of each one of the icons in it.

Pre-check in: this option provides the opportunity for our guests to advance fulfilling essential information that is needed at the Check-in in the hotel. To fill out this form it is necessary to have on hand:

  • Reservation number.
  • Last name of the responsible person for the reservation.
  • Zip code registered in the reservation, as it appears in the confirmation letter that you have previously received.
  • Name and Age of the companions.
  • Vehicle information.

With this provided information, 2 days before your arrival the letter of admission to Puerto Peñasco will be sent to you; you must present this letter at the sanitary check point at the entrance of the city.

This option provides the opportunity for our guests to advance essential information that is needed at the Check-in in the resort.

It can be filled from a mobile device in our App Las Palomas Resort Pre-Check In option, or from a computer on our page

To fill out this form it is necessary to have on hand:

  • Reservation number
  • Last name of the person who is responsible for the reservation, as it appears in the confirmation letter, in case the guest detects that their last name is misspelled, they can contact our Reservation Department to request the correction, this field does not detects special characters like Ñ or accent marks.
  • Zip Code registered in the reservation, as it appears in the confirmation letter previously sent to the guest.

Rental terms

  • The guest must read and accept the agreements of use of the rental service.
  • If you do not accept them, you will not be able to complete this form.

Information request about companions and credit opening.

  • On this section the maximum capacity allowed will be indicated according to the type of condominium that you have rented, only one additional person is allowed to the indicated as maximum capacity with a charge of $30 dlls per night, this must be previously requested and authorized by our reservations department.
  • The first field is the name of the person responsible for the reservation, this person must be over 25 years demonstrable at the check in.
  • The second field refers to whether or not the guest wants to open credit for consumption in the restaurants and bars of the hotel and charge directly to his reservation, this must be indicated with a Y if it is affirmative, separated with a diagonal the amount of credit that he wants to leave. If it is disapproving, it will be necessary to indicate it with an N.

Use of the Pool/Beach Areas

  • Pool hours are 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  • There is no lifeguard on duty.
  • Wristband or owner badge required.
  • Swimwear is mandatory in pools - no street clothes.

  • Incontinent adults and babies 2 and under must wear pool diapers.

It Is Not Allowed

  • Smoking of any kind.
  • Inappropriate behavior - foul language.
  • Running, jumping or diving.
  • Running, jumping or diving.
  • Food in pools. Exception: eating at the Pool Bar counter.
  • Floats in: jacuzzi Phase I and pool bar, intermediate and secondary pool in Phase II.
  • Glass containers.
  • Coolers – owners allowed coolers that fit under loungers.

  • Balls, water guns, airborne toys and oversized inflatables.
  • Reserving or moving lounge chairs.

  • Be sure to monitor the beach warning flags to avoid any safety risks.
  • The use of any type of umbrella is prohibited on the common areas.
  • The use of the facilities is not allowed once check out has been done.

Hammock Garden (Phase I)

  • The Hammock Garden is designed for adults. Children must be under supervision at all times.
  • Hammocks should not be used as swings.


  • Only owners may have authorized pets.
  • Owners can walk their pets in designated areas only. It is an obligation of the Owner to keep the pet on a leash and pick up after them.


  • In the event of loud and excessive noise, Security will intervene.


  • Owners must carry their Owner ID or bracelet in the common areas.
  • All Owner Guests and Hotel Guests have to wear wristbands.
  • Mexican law prohibits firearms and fireworks.
  • The Administration has a Zero Tolerance on threatening or abusive behavior. Harassment or physical abuse to any person is prohibited; violators of these and other rules are subject to immediate removal from the property.
  • Only the number or guests in the reservation have access to Las Palomas. Non-registered guests will not be allowed to access.

In the Condominium

  • Do not hang articles (e.g., wet towels) over the railings.
  • For Security purposes, the main door of the unit must remain closed.

Grill Area

  • Grill hours are 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
  • You may light up the grill or request assistance from a maintenance operator.
  • Don’t use it for more than one hour, so it can be used by others too.
  • Turn off the grill when you finish and leave the area clean. DO NOT USE CHARCOAL.
  • Keep children and pets away from this area to avoid accidents.


  • It is mandatory to use the parking pass provided by Las Palomas.
  • It is not allowed to park trailers or boats in the underground garages.
  • Only owners may park their recreational vehicles in the underground garages. Only one covered space may be used for this purpose (not designated).
  • Fuel containers are prohibited in underground parking lots.
  • Maximum speed limit is 16 kmph/10 mph.
  • Gathering in the parking areas for parties is prohibited. Additionally, activities which present a nuisance or injury risk shall not be permitted in any common areas of the Resort. Such disallowed activities include but are not limited to skateboarding, bicycle riding, rollerblading, rollerskating, riding scooters, etc.
  • Vehicles using designated handicap parking stalls must have handicap license plates or display an authorized handicap permit on the rear view mirror, along with the Las Palomas parking pass.


  • Gym users must be at least 16 years old. Ages 12 - 15 are allowed if accompanied by a supervising adult.
  • No smoking, spitting, or chewing of tobacco or food inside the gym. Alcoholic drinks are not allowed.
  • No personal boom box or portable speakers.
  • Appropriate gym attire is a must, no jeans. Jeans can damage equipment upholstery. Closed toed shoes must be worn. Shirts must be worn. No wet swimsuits.

Are You Ready To Start?

  • All rates are in U.S. dollars, and include housekeeping service and access to all resort amenities. We do not charge “hidden fees”.

  • It is a Resort policy that at least one person of the party checking-in is 25 years or older.

We require credit card payments to make reservation. Under special circumstances, we will accept checks and/or bank deposits.

  • At the time of booking a reservation, we charge 50% of the total reservation cost
  • We will charge the remaining balance of the reservation the same day of your arrival.
  • For holiday dates the entire amount of the reservation will be charged at the time of booking and is non-refundable.
  • Credit Car or cash payments preferred. VISA and MC credit card payments are processed in US dollars; AMEX is also accepted but will incur currency conversion fees.

It is important that you clearly understand our policy for refunds, cancellations and changes.

Contact Las Palomas reservations either by email or phone to request date or condo locations changes.
There will be no reservation changes allowed within 10 days of your arrival day.
Confirmed reservations which are cancelled at least 10 calendar days prior to your check-in date will be result in 150 USD cancellation fee. For cancellations made within 10 days of your check-in date or no shows, the total reservation amount will be forfeited.
There are no refunds for early departures.

There are no refunds for holiday dates.

No reimbursement in case of eviction, zero tolerance policy.

Please make sure you clearly understand and agree with our payment, refund and change policies.

With special permission, one additional person beyond the maximum occupancy may stay in each suite for an additional charge of $50 U.S. plus 11.8% taxes.
