Since 1776, July 4 has been celebrated as the birthday of the United States; it has been a federal holiday in the U.S. since 1941. In the early days, the holiday was celebrated by public readings of the Declaration of Independence, concerts, bonfires, parades, and the firing of cannons and muskets. Today, Americans celebrate their independence with fireworks shows, gatherings with friends and family, and more. This year, spend July 4th at Las Palomas.
